Walnut Meat for Consumers

Walnuts are one of the most common nuts with a crunchy taste. A deciduous tree having edible fruit, oil, and medicine, the walnut, also known as the "walnut," is a nutritious food. During the harvest season, the fresh, undried walnut is more delicious, as the walnut raw food nutrition loss is the least.

The fruit inflorescence is short, and the catkin is drooping, with 1-3 fruits. The fruit is nearly globose, 4-6 cm in diameter, and glabrous. The fruit kernel is slightly wrinkled, with 2 longitudinal edges and a short point at the apex. To peel a walnut, there are several methods:

1. Hinge method: Place the walnut between the open door, hinge, and door frame, and slowly close the door so that the hinges firmly press against the walnut. With a crack, the door opens, and the broken walnut is removed.

2. Hammer method: Place the walnuts on a hard platform, and the shell will crack along the axis. Then, open the shell along the crack with your hand, taking care not to hit your hand.

3. Walnut clamp method: Place the walnuts in the clamp and grip them firmly.

4. Freezing method: Put the walnuts in a freezer bag, seal them, and freeze them in the freezer for a few hours to freeze the walnuts and the water in their shells.

To keep walnuts, there are two methods:

1. Clean, well-ventilated bag storage: Put the walnuts in a clean, well-ventilated bag, tie the mouth, and store them in a cool, well-ventilated environment, which can keep the walnuts from deteriorating for a few months.

2. Room temperature storage: Place the natural walnut meat on a clean, permeable wooden tray, spread it out, and cover it with a layer of clean white paper. Store it in a room-temperature, sunless environment, which can also keep the walnut kernel fresh for a long time.
